In person, across Polk County
Lakeland is home, and from there I travel to Winter Haven, Bartow, Auburndale, Lake Wales, Haines City, Davenport, Mulberry, Polk City, Dundee, Eagle Lake and the towns in between, usually within twenty to thirty-five minutes.
The visit happens where it suits you: a house, an office, a hospital room, a rehabilitation centre, an assisted living facility, a dealership, a coffee shop or a parking lot, evenings and weekends are normal, and hospital visits get priority when the schedule allows.
What a visit costs
Two parts, always agreed before I set out: the notarial fee is capped by Florida law at $10 per act in person, and the travel fee depends on distance and time of day, which is why a late evening trip to Lake Wales is not priced like a morning in Lakeland.
You get the full amount before I leave, never after, and if the appointment cannot go ahead because identification is missing or the signer is not able to sign, there is no notarial fee, because no notarial act happened.
Online, across Florida and beyond
Everywhere outside Polk County is handled in a remote online session, which Florida has allowed since 2020 and which carries the same legal weight as signing across a desk, so Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville and every town in between are served this way, as are Florida residents who happen to be abroad.
There is no travel fee for an online session, and the notarial fee is capped at $25 per act, so for a single document it is usually both faster and cheaper than any visit.
Why I do not travel further
Because a notary who promises the whole state in person cannot keep a bedside appointment in Lakeland the same afternoon, and keeping the travel area small is what makes same-day visits realistic for the people who actually need someone at a hospital.
If your document must be signed on paper in front of a notary and you are outside Polk County, look for a mobile notary there, and I would rather tell you that than take the booking.
The one service that is always in person
Wedding ceremonies, which have to be performed face to face and take place in Florida, and which I officiate across Polk County.
Frequently asked questions
- Do you travel to Tampa or Orlando?
- No, my travel area is Polk County, and both are handled in an online session, which is usually quicker than a drive anyway.
- How far in advance should I book a visit?
- Same-day is often possible inside Polk County, including evenings and weekends, though a day's notice makes it easier to give you a precise time.
- Can you come to a hospital?
- Yes, anywhere in Polk County, and those requests get priority, though the signer still has to be awake, aware of the document and able to say so.
- I am outside Florida — can you still notarize for me?
- Often yes, through an online session, because a Florida notary performing a remote notarization is treated as acting in Florida, though there are conditions for signers located outside the country.
